About Audrey

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Audrey Moore, I am the author of the series of books Ping and Po-Li and Ping and Po-Li, Rainforest Rescue. I launched my first book in October 2015 and my second book on the 12th April 2019.

I was born in 1979, growing up I was like every other child, I liked to play outside all day and living in a large housing estate I always had someone to play with! Myself and my friends would go out and play for the day and only return when we were hungry!

I loved Art and English in school and went on to study Journalism for three years in Ballyfermot College of Further Education.

When I finished College, I was lucky to land work experience in RTE for three months and I was in the RTE Radio Newsroom when 9/11 happened. I worked with the late Peter Mooney who was an absolute gentleman. I was invited to help on the Joe Duffy Show. It was such an interesting experience. Paul Brady sang the song The Long Goodbye on a piano in the RTE Studio. I was in the then Taoiseach’s office Bertie Ahern. We met the Irish Rugby team at the airport for an interview and attended a Press Conference with Gerry Adams, to name but a few of the interesting things that happened.

I applied for a job in a solicitor’s office as I was getting frustrated not having a steady income, I really enjoyed law and then went on to study law in Griffith College in Dublin for two years. I met my husband Ray in 2002 and we now have three gorgeous children, Jessica 15, Elinor 9, and Jamie 3, a dog Sam, 5 chickens (more chickens on the way… shhhh don’t tell my husband!) and the oldest goldfish who is now 12 years of age!

In my spare time, I love to play badminton twice a week in Kilcullen and I love oil painting and attend an art class on a Monday evening.

The days I am not working, I am busy attending primary schools across the country and I visit about 30 schools a year. I am delighted to be invited back to read my new book to several schools.
